It's like Marvel meets DC meets Disney anthro... well, sorta.

And so "A Dark Plight" ends with hope for a new beginning with Hilaria. I am always amazed when an episode closes in this comic because they consistantly say more than I expected. Each time I feel as though I've said all I could say and perhaps it is time to close the comic for good. Yet, something stirs in my imagination and pesters me until I start working on "When Foxes Fly" again, and once more I'm amazed by what I learn from it. I truly believe it is Divine Inspiration because I just don't know where else these storylines come from. I've really enjoyed this parody, but it has taken a VERY long time to do. With it done, (and I am pleased at how it closed) I won't say I'll stop the comic ('cause everytime I do I wind up changing my mind anyway) but I am planning a break from "When Foxes Fly" until the next inspiration starts demanding my attention.

Thanks so much for reading, and hope to see y'all soon.

I am so very glad this comic exists, and even if you never did another episode I would be grateful for the ones you did give us.
God has blessed you, and blessed us through you. May He do so again.

I think that is the mark of a good writer. You know when you want to tell a story, so never totally close the door. You will be inspired again, but it is always good to take a break. Please do keep in touch. I always enjoy your inspiration.

Thank you, T7! I'll wait on the next inspiration because I don't have the faintest idea what it will be. There are so many movies to make parodies from, but I'm not sure if that's the direction the comic will go. I know that I will have to make drastic format changes, because what I have can't be printed by publishers. That's what I'll be working on as I wait for God's Guidance.

That was a really great ending. ^^ It'd be neat to check in on Hilaria and see how she's coming along in reforming.

I hope to see another adventure with your characters! This world you've created is awesome!

Thank you, KT! I kinda see a reformed Hilaria performing at children's wards in hospitals and nursing homes in the distant future. Not a wild exciting superhero destiny, but (in my opinion) no less epic.

Gosh, I... I hadn't realized that I had actually made an anthro world in this comic. I mean, not so the reader would notice. Wow... Thanks for bringing this to my attention KT! :D

Hey RG,
Excellent conclusion to a well told story. Rusty shows that we can all be participants, through prayer, in the greatest adventure of all: the salvation of human hearts.
As an amateur cartoonist myself, I totally agree with your surprise at a story and characters that develop and say things far deeper than your original plan. In a tiny way writer and cartoonists get to experience firsthand our Creator’s pleasure with the growths and applications of love in living personalities.
You mention looking for new parodies for future storylines; however, your characters are so strong that they are pretty quickly going to start creating their own situations and writing their own stories. There is a style of Christian storytelling where the author designs a short story to illustrate a particular characteristic or spiritual truth. There is another style where Christian-based characters are dropped into a certain situation, then by their actions and reactions express deeper truths almost as a byproduct. You’ve got such great storytelling and quality characters; I think your next great story will probably be situational. I can’t wait to find out.
May God richly bless your health and family as he has blessed your abilities.

Thanks so much, bscruffy! Now that you mention it, a return of Hott DD has been rattling around in my head.

May God Bless you and all those around you! :D

A thought...Hilaria must know a good many villains. Maybe what God has in store for her is to led some of /them/ to faith in Him.

Hmmmm... Well, she has already made some serious enemies of major villains in this episode. That could start some interesting storylines...

I just discovered this comic today and it is very fascinating. I have a Christian-oriented comic myself and I am also from South Carolina. I look forward to reading them all. God Bless you, sir. :-)

If they really want God to reach Hilaria, maybe they should be His hands and feet. ;)

Sorry I haven't been around much! I'm working to remedy the situation. It's good to see you're still around, RG!

Thanks HR! Yeah, I'm still around, but working hard on publishing books and building a new site. Moving archives for the most part now. On the other hand, I'm storyboarding for a new comic and trying to decide whether or not to continue at ComicFury. I'm so happy with how the new site is looking, I may just move everything to When Foxes Fly at 1&1.
